i think jack johnson's stuff is just really different from john mayer's. i like both of them but personally prefer jack.

dud john mayer, may play things that SOUND better than jack johnson, but jack's stuff is by far harder to play, not just the fingerings and patterns he does, but getting the feel that he plays with isn't exactly easy, john just happens to play solos, nothing against john mayer though

not really, brushfire and on and on really didn't have any electric on them, but an artist has to grow and change anyway, if every single album was only acoustic it would start to get mono tone and boring, and if you actually listen to sleep through the static, there really isn't all that much electric, just a couple of the songs
