baby shampoo works -- other dish soap is fine.

just use it on stubbord hard to clean products like wax based makeup off the bristles. Products like fluidline and lipsticks are harder to clean, so olive oil helps loosen that up before through cleaning.

not sure what you mean by stripping colors -- make sure you are not getting the handles wet at all, just the bristles.

Do you think that i should add olive oil to my eye brushes? I have a MAC #222 and the bristles around are becoming nappy ever since i started cleaning it with your homemade cleanser, and i dry it by stroking it on a hand towel
